Christmas 2016

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

Christmas time brings a sense of comfort into the commmunity. Christmas lights, music and lattes always put me in the christmas spirit. Family joining together to embrace family traditions and celebrate this beautiful day. It’s magical!

Christmas is a time for giving. I personally enjoy brainstorming all year for gifts I want to give. The look on loved ones faces when they open your gift is what this time of the year is all about.

My husband and I shop all year for each other and we enjoy the suspense of what each other is getting. We try to be creative each year and follow a theme the other one has no clue about. We decorate every year the day after Thanksgiving. We crank Christmas music up, grab a glass of wine and decorate the entire house, inside and out. It’s a tradition we look forward to every year.

My sisters and I have a cookie baking tradition every year. We gather together at one of our homes and we bake a variety of different cookies. We laugh, make a huge mess and just enjoy this quality time together. We have a blast!

Our family always has a big get together on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We have a big family, so we always alternate homes every year and take turns hosting. Family from out of town join in and make this time extra special. Nothing better then getting everyone together to celebrate this amazing holiday.

Of course, there is always so much food… but I’m not complaining! I love whipping up new recipes but also making our traditional favorites. When I think of christmas, my mind is drawn to making festive dishes and being creative. My family also loves to cook so we always have quite the variety of dishes. Shout out to my parents and sisters for making a delcious Italian feast on Christmas Eve and a mouth watering prime rib on Christmas Day! This year I was in charge of dessert and side dishes 🙂
