Country Style Chicken and Gravy

Ingredients for chicken:

  • 2 (4 oz) chicken breasts, boneless, skinless, pounded
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tablespoon seasoned salt
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Gravy:

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pepper
  • 1 pinch paprika

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. In a 9×13 baking dish add butter. Place dish in oven and allow butter to melt.
  3. In a medium bowl mix together flour, seasoned salt, paprika and garlic powder.
  4. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then add chicken to flour mixture and coat both sides.
  5. Remove dish from oven and place chicken in the melted butter. Make sure they are not overlapping.
  6. Return dish to oven and bake for 10 minutes. Flip the chicken and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  7. Turn oven temperature to broil and cook until chicken is golden brown and crispy, about 3 or 4 minutes (keep a close eye on it).
  8. Serve on a plate and pour gravy on top. Recipe below.
  9. Enjoy!!

Gravy: Add butter to a sauce pan and heat over medium heat. Once melted add the flour and whisk until texture is smooth. Slowly add in milk and whisk until combined. Add salt, pepper and paprika. Reduce heat to simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. If gravy is too thin, turn the heat on high for about a minute, whisk constantly.
