Blackened Fish Tacos
A fresh and light meal!
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. Tilapia fillets
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne
- 1/2 tablespoon lime juice
Instructions:
- In a small bowl combine all the spices. Set aside.
- Rub Tilapia fillets with olive oil until fully coated, then rub spice mixture all over fillets until both sides are completely covered.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add butter. Once butter is melted place in fillets and cook for 3-4 on each side or until golden brown and flaky. Remove from pan and squeeze lime juice over fillets. Gently flake fish and serve in a tortilla with toppings of choice. I used sour cream, avocados, tomatoes, and cilantro.
