My First Skydiving Experience 

Recently my sister and I went skydiving for the first time… yes you read it right!! I know, we are crazy but we did it! This has always been something on our bucket list. Every year we say we’re going to go but other things always come up. We finally decided to pick a date and go. And that’s exactly what we did…
It was the scariest, most amazing experience I’ve ever had! Saying your going to do it is so much easier than actually doing it. We learned that the hard way! Lol. It all sounds easy and fun until you reach 11,000 ft in the air and you’re looking down, about to jump. Thank god I had my sister there with me or I probably would have bailed.
The instructors we had were amazing and kept us very calm through this whole process. They explained everything very thoroughly. We started to feel better but the plane ride up was one of the longest 20 minutes ever! When we reached 11,000 feet my instructor patted my back and said “it’s time!” My stomach dropped to my feet. We scooted up toward the front of the plane and before I knew it I was standing in the doorway looking down. Oh my gosh!! He asked if I was ready and I replied, “As ready as I’ll ever be.” He counted to three and off we went! We were in a freefall for 60 seconds, it was incredible! After 60 seconds he pulled the parachute, we then jerked back a bit and began to soar. You could see everything up there, it was truly breathtaking. I couldn’t believe how beautiful the view was from up there. It was so quiet and peaceful, you could hear a pin drop. It took us about 20 minutes to make it to the ground. My instructor also allowed me to take control for a few minutes. He handed me the straps to the parachute and explained to me how to spin left and right. That was pretty wild!
All I can say is “wow!!” This was by far the most amazing experience of my life! I still can’t believe we jumped out of a perfectly good plane 😉 but I would do it again in a heartbeat! My sister and I were ready to go back up once we landed! I recommend anyone that has skydiving on their bucket list to do it. You won’t be disappointed!!
